A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

This is a remake of a minigame called Lockstep from an old rhythm game Rhythm Heaven (2009). In this minigame, march along with the music while switching between onbeats and offbeats. Try not to mess up and make your fellow stepswitchers mad.

I made this remake as a callback to my childhood days of "gaming" and also as a beginner's exercise in using unity.

Yes, there are a lot of missing features (especially practice mode), and there will probrably be a lot of bugs. I'm busy in IRL right now but maybe I'll come back to fix them after the exam.

All rights go to Nintendo, the owner of the Rhythm Heaven series.

This is awesome! Can you also add Lockstep 2 pls?

Hey, I'm working on a beat mapper app for music-based games. It's called MBOY Editor (https://vfpe.itch.io/mboy-editor) Do you want to try it for your game? Vic

The offset was def needed

Is there a way to make it not fullscreen?

Awesome remake, the only problem I have is the rating screen. It's only a tad bit small than it should be but my main problem is the perfect screen for ds. "Fan club" You've earned a gift! A small issue but still a great remake!

whoops i captured the wrong perfect screen lol

amazing

i like

Rhythm Heaven DS Sprites!

But what about Rhythm Heaven Megamix?

This doesn't work on Mac or Linux, it's just a .exe file..

It doesn't work on Mac? I clicked on the "PC, Mac & Linux Standalone" in the Build settings in Unity so I thought it would work on Mac & Linux. I'm sorry but I don't know how to fix it.

Go to File > Build Settings and change "Target Platform" on the right from Windows to macOS X. For Linux, change it to Linux. Save and compile and it'll create a build for that specific platform.

Great! I love the new zoom outs, and the offset option actually helped quite a bit. You've done quite a good job with this!

thanks for the compliment!

how about make rhythm heaven for pc

After I finished this I'll do clappy trio or bon odori next. Their animations are pretty easy.

I really like that you're trying to make my favorite minigame on PC!

I think the music might be coming a bit early, since I wasn't able to keep rhythm normally but could if I turned my volume off.

I'll try to add an offset option next time.

hey mind adding lockstep 2 for an easier time for beginners

I'll probrably do a different minigame after this one

Hey, not a bad remake at all! Aside from the camera not zooming out like it does in the original, and the different aspect ratio, I don't see much different.Just a genuinely good remake, well done!

Thanks for the support! The camera zooming in-out means I'll have to implement 4 more sets of sprites which is a pretty big task. After I finished with my exam maybe I'll do it.

No worries, it was by no means something I felt the game was worse for, sorry if it sounded rude. I wish you luck in the future.

Hello!

I just played your remake, not bad at all! I really liked it!

I was wondering if I can contact in anyway (for example Discord)! Want to ask a few questions in private.

Hope you're doing well!

Take care,
